Every antique clock tells its own story, and no two are the same. At Clockwise Antique Clocks, we relish the challenge each unique timepiece presents. The restoration process begins with carefully dismantling the clock’s movement and inspecting each part for wear or damage. After this, the mechanism is cleaned in fine solvents using an ultrasonic tank to remove decades of grime and dirt.

Once clean, worn pivots, pallet faces, and other components are restored or meticulously hand-made when necessary to retain the clock’s historical integrity. Only after every detail has been checked is the movement reassembled, re-oiled with fine lubricants, and extensively tested to ensure precision. Finally, the clock is re-cased, and further testing ensures it runs beautifully and reliably.

Our work extends to the clock’s exterior as well. From light polishing and waxing to complete case restoration using traditional techniques like French polishing and veneering, every clock receives the care it deserves. Dials can also be re-silvered or repainted to restore their original appearance while staying true to the timepiece’s history.
