The Workshop

Clock Repairs in Stroud

We specialise in antique clock repair in Stroud. Every repair begins with the careful removal of the clock movement from its case. Each part is inspected in detail for signs of wear before undergoing a thorough clean in fine solvents and an ultrasonic bath. Any worn or damaged components are then restored by hand.

Pivot holes are pegged, resized, or adjusted where needed. If pallet faces or pivots show damage, they are refinished or replaced with precision. Mainsprings are cleaned or swapped for new, and every moving part receives correct oiling to ensure smooth operation.

Once reassembled, the clock is accurately timed and tested in stages – both before and after re-casing. A clock will only leave my workshop once I am fully satisfied with its accuracy and reliability.

I take pride in every project. My approach to antique clock repair is as much about passion as it is about skill.

Casework & Finishing

From gentle polishing to complete cabinet rebuilds, I use traditional techniques such as hand joinery, period veneers, and authentic French polishing. Dials are restored or re-silvered in keeping with the age and character of the clock.

Collection & Delivery

Where required, I provide a careful collection and delivery service, treating every clock with the same respect as if it were my own.

Please Note

I specialise only in antique mechanical clocks. I do not service quartz, battery-powered, torsion, cuckoo clocks, or watches.
