The Workshop
Clock Repairs in Stonehouse
I provide specialist antique clock repair services in Stonehouse, working with care and precision to restore timepieces to their former glory. Every repair starts with the careful removal of the movement from its case. Each component is examined for wear, cleaned in fine solvents and ultrasonically, and any worn parts are restored entirely by hand.
Pivot holes are pegged and resized as required, while damaged pallet faces or pivots are expertly refinished or replaced. Mainsprings are thoroughly cleaned or renewed, and each moving part is given the correct oiling to ensure lasting performance.
After reassembly, every clock is carefully timed and tested, both before and after re-casing. No clock leaves my Stonehouse workshop until I am confident in its accuracy and reliability.
I take great pride in this craft—antique clock repair for me is a balance of traditional skill and genuine passion.
Cabinet & Casework
Whether a light polish or a full cabinet rebuild is needed, I work using traditional techniques such as fine joinery, veneering, and French polishing. Dials are restored or re-silvered to suit the clock’s original period.
Collection & Delivery
If required, I can arrange safe collection and delivery of your clock. Each piece is handled with the same care and respect as if it were my own.
Important Note
I work exclusively with antique mechanical clocks. I do not service quartz, battery-operated, torsion, cuckoo clocks, or watches.
