The Workshop
Restoration and Repair You Can Trust
I remove each clock’s movement from its case, disassemble and examine every component for damage. Using fine solvents and an ultrasonic cleaner, I clean and polish thoroughly, before replacing or hand-fabricating any worn or damaged parts.
Each pivot hole is pegged and checked for wear. Pallet faces and pivots are carefully restored. After meticulous inspection, the clock is reassembled and oiled with precision-grade lubricants. Mainsprings are greased, and lines replaced with the best quality available.
All clocks are extensively tested and timed before being returned to their case – then tested again to ensure reliability.

Case restoration ranges from subtle polishing and waxing to full rebuilds using traditional veneers, French polish, and appropriate cabinet techniques.
Dial faces are re-silvered or repainted in keeping with the clock’s age and character.
Delivery is always included – it’s part of the standard I hold myself to.
Confucius once said if you love your job, you’ll never work a day in your life. I might not speak Mandarin, but I know exactly what he meant — repairing clocks is more than a job. It’s my craft.
**Note:** I do not service quartz (battery), cuckoo, torsion, or any type of wristwatch or pocket watch.
